We build and operate Shorty ourselves — a growing platform that turns YouTube videos and Spotify podcasts into quick, digestible takeaways so people can save time and learn faster.
It is free to use with no login required, and every summary is powered by AI — paste a link and Shorty does the rest.
We built Shorty as a Next.js application backed by Python microservices that handle the AI summarization pipeline, with a data-scraping layer that pulls the source media.
A browser extension brings the same experience straight onto YouTube: click Summarize on any video and Shorty returns a summary with timestamps and key points.
We designed a modern, intuitive UI in Figma — wireframes through high-fidelity prototypes — that streamlines link input, progress tracking, and the final summary.
Photoshop and Illustrator produced the icons, logo, and brand visuals. A minimalist dashboard organizes saved summaries, and clear CTAs, animated progress bars, and a consistent color palette keep the experience cohesive from start to finish.
Shorty runs on the web and ships as native apps for Mac/iOS, Android, and Windows, plus browser extensions for Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
